ONE FRAME SCENARIOS
JARVEY
She wore blinkers, saw only the future.
He warned her of the peril, the traffic.
I will provide, he said. A warm bed, enough to eat and drink, .
Ever promising the road ahead, lumps of sugar at the end. Chafing shafts and steel bit unheeded.
There were triumphs, shouts about her ears. Always a challenge, another hill to climb. No time to pause.
Nights of dreamless sleep.
The day arrived. He led her to a lunar landscape.
Old soldiers never die, he said, and removed her blinkers.
She turned and saw the ruin of her life.
